BEXLEY: Vicious train yob tracked down by DNA
Vicious train yob tracked down by DNA
A THUG who kicked a train passenger unconscious in an unprovoked attack is facing jail.
Asher Henry, 20, of Jeffrey Row, Horn Park Lane, Lee and two other thugs yelled 'attack, attack' as they set about Foad Rangini as he stood waiting for a train at Greenwich railway Station.
Henry smashed a bottle and held it to Mr Rangini's throat while a cohort terrorised him with a dog, City of Westminster Magistrates' Court heard last Friday.
Philip Lemoine, prosecuting, told the court Mr Rangini was asked for a cigarette at the station which he said he didn't have.
But Henry turned nasty, accusing him of laughing at his friend.
The prosecutor added: "One of the youths was urging the dog forward to the complainant.
"Then Mr Henry picked up a bottle, smashed it with his right hand, and began waving it towards the victim's face.
"A witness said he believed the item was being held near his throat."
Henry barked at his victim: "Look what you've made me do now, I'm bleeding, I'm going to do you."
Mr Rangini backed off and managed to call the police on his mobile.
But as he did so he heard shouting and all three running towards him shouting 'attack, attack'.
Mr Lemoine said: "He remembers nothing else until he came round.
"He was told he had been kicked in the head and was unconscious for five or six minutes."
He was taken to hospital where he needed four stitches in his lip.
He also suffered loosened teeth and bruised ribs, with the gang continuing to kick his head and body as he lay defenceless on the ground.
Mr Rangini's attackers fled the scene but Henry was traced from DNA in blood drops on the broken glass.
He was arrested at home on August 4 and made no comment during police interview.
The court heard none of the other yobs have been caught.
District Judge Anthony Evans committed him for sentence at Southwark Crown Court where he could face a lengthy jail term.
Henry admitted one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm on June 24 this year.
