A MOTHER who chased and caught a young hooligan who smashed her car window is claiming that police 'have let him off with a caution.

Now Jackie Warren is demanding that police get tough on the vandals and thugs who make life hell for residents throughout the borough.

Mrs Warren has been left to pay the cost of the repair bill to her vehicle after the yob was only cautioned.

Mrs Warren, 37, said: "The police are meant to be tough on crime. If they are not going to crack down on these people then who is?"

She saw the teenager smash the passenger side window while she was parked in Wivenhoe Road, Barking, at 10.45pm on August 4.
