A fifth teenager has been charged with the murder of Garry Newlove, who was killed outside his home.

The 47-year-old father-of-three was fatally injured when he approached a group of youths in Station Road North in Warrington, Cheshire, on 10 August.

Adam Swellings, 18, of Meredith Street, Crewe, and three others, two aged 15 and one aged 17, have already been charged with his murder.

A 17-year-old boy from Warrington has also now been charged with murder.

He is due to appear before Warrington youth court on Friday.

Police said a 16-year-old boy arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Newlove died as a result of a haemorrhage caused by a hard blow near his left ear.
