PRESTON: Revenge of the yobs

Revenge of the yobs

Victim: Faisal Bodi
Victim: Faisal Bodi

When yobs caused misery for residents in a Preston street, Faisal Bodi tried to stop them.
But he has paid a hefty price. Hours after asking troublemakers to move on, yobs threw a tin of gloss paint over his new £19,000 car.

Mr Bodi, 38, woke to find the white paint all over his silver Honda FRV, parked at his home on Carlton Drive, Frenchwood, Preston.

The property developer also discovered the vandals had scratched the doors and slashed the tyres in the overnight attack.

The father-of-two said he believed the act was carried out by the youths he had asked to move on and added: "We are at the end of our tether. We have lived here for 18 months and for most of that we have suffered at the hands of these thugs."
Mr Bodi, who lives with his wife and their one and three-year-old toddlers, says he has called police on 12 occasions to report anti-social behaviour, but each time, due to resourcing, they have only responded the following day.

He added: "Police need to mount more patrols in this area and move the youths on. If the yobs think police aren't taking it seriously, it encourages them."

Insp Steve Evans, of Preston Police, said: "Mr Bodi's calls were not classed as a code one emergency. The investigation into the damage to his car is on-going and we would ask anyone with information to contact us, quoting log number 28CQ."

Anyone with information on the incident involving Mr Bodi's car on September 11, should call police on 01772 203203 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
