Police raid over 100 city homes

MORE than 100 homes were raided in Croxteth and Norris Green to clamp down on anti-social behaviour.

Police executed warrants as part of a targeted day of action against a range of criminal offences.

Two people were arrested and a number of items, including an air weapon and industrial fireworks, were seized.

Officers swooped at properties in the Dencourt Road and Asser Road area which were among 117 addresses visited.

The operation was carried out in partnership with the Benefits Agency, Manweb, truancy officers and the Department of Work and Pensions.

It is part of Merseyside police’s total war on crime tactic.

Neighbourhood chief inspector Bill McWilliam said: “This operation sends out a clear message that we will use all powers to target anti- social and criminal behaviour.
