Teenager brutally beaten by gang

A TEENAGER was clubbed about the head while having a drink with friends near a sports centre on the outskirts of Paisley.

The terrified 17-year-old was hit with a piece of wood and also kicked and punched during the night attack by a gang of neds.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where his wounds were treated.

Police said the attack happened in a field near the David Lloyd Sports Centre which looks on to the M8.

He was having a drink with pals when a 15-strong gang walked over and started chatting to him.

Moments later, the victim was beaten by teenagers armed with pieces of wood and he suffered a number of cuts and bruises.

As police were checking CCTV footage they appealed for witnesses.
