STONE: Woman has car taken by gun yob

Woman has car taken by gun yob

A TERRIFIED shopper was forced to hand over her car after being threatened by a gun-toting thug in a Stone car park.

The 43-year-old woman was left shaken but unhurt after being robbed of her Toyota Yaris Verso at Somerfield car park on Monday.

The frightened victim, who lives in Milwich, was outside her car at around 5.45pm when the yob approached her.

He demanded she give him the keys to her car and threatened her with what she believed to be a handgun.

Stafford CID are now appealing for the public's help to track down the robber.

Detective Constable Tim Faux, of Stafford CID, said: "This was a completely unprovoked and isolated incident which obviously left the lady distressed.

"We would urge any members of the public who saw the offender either before, during or after the theft of the green 52 registration Toyota Yaris Verso to contact us."

The attacker is described as white, aged between 20 and 22, slim and between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins. He wore a Burberry-looking cap, jeans and a shirt with a laptop bag across his shoulder.

Anyone with information should contact Stafford CID on 01785 234931 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
