DONCASTER: Fifteen Arrests in Wheatley and Intake

Fifteen Arrests in Wheatley and Intake

FIFTEEN people were arrested in a joint police and council operation to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime in Wheatley and Intake.
The arrests were made on suspicion of theft, criminal damage and harrassment. One man was arrested after a search of two properties on Chester Road in Wheatley where drugs and stolen goods were found.

Council teams involved in Operation Activate, which began on August 10, tackled graffiti and tipping in Sandall Park. They also looked at anti-social behaviour in the area and have warned that persistent offenders could face eviction.

More visible patrols were on the streets of both suburbs.

Pc Liam Wood said: "As a result of this operation the Wheatley area has already seen a rise in patrols and this is driving down anti-social behaviour in the area. People who have been wanted for various crimes and other matters have been arrested as a result of the increased patrols. "
