MONTROSE: Street closed after shots fired

Street closed after shots fired

Part of a street in Montrose has been cordoned off by police after they received reports of shots being fired.


Officers were called out to the town's Christie's Lane at 0220 BST and recovered a number of spent cartridges from the scene.


Specialist teams have been searching the area but no weapon has been found.
Tayside Police confirmed that a 24-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident. A report is to be sent to the procurator fiscal.
Detectives interviewed residents in Christie's Lane on Thursday in a bid to establish what happened.


Forensic officers were also due to examine the street once the initial search had been completed.


Tayside Police appealed for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
