A fed-up residents have told how yobs are blighting an area of Lancashire.
Ian McKay, 44, of Westbrook Crescent, Ingol, Preston, lives in a flat which backs on to a play park at Worthing Road.

Equipment on the park has been attacked by young thugs with craft knives.

Earlier this week the Evening Post reported how swings at the park were attacked by marauding youths brandishing blades.

They caused around £560 worth of damage by cutting seats off the swings.

But Mr McKay, who has lived in his Community Gateway flat for five years, says it is just the tip of the iceberg and the noise and constant vandalism being
caused by teenagers there is making their lives a misery.

He said: "This has been going on for some time now, since at least last year.

"They have been repeatedly cutting the swings, throwing them around, and spray painting garages and fences at the back of the flats.

"They have been tearing up all the rubber mats there as well, and they have even tried to pull the metal gates down.

"They are just running riot really."

Janet Ratcliffe, 52, a friend of Mr McKay's, said: "It is upsetting everyone who lives here because it is really nice up here and no one wants anything like this."

Others have provided this newspaper with the names and addresses of several youths suspected of being involved with the damage.

Insp John Ainsworth, of Lea police, said: "We would encourage the public to phone the police with the names of these yobs.

We will investigate and make arrests."
