Three teenagers have been charged with the murder of a man who died after approaching a group of youths.

Garry Newlove, 47, was injured outside his home in Station Road North in Warrington, Cheshire, on Friday night.

The father-of-three was taken to hospital but died on Sunday afternoon after suffering trauma to his head.

The boys, two aged 15 and one aged 16, are due to appear at Runcorn Youth Court on Tuesday. Three other youths were released by police.

A seventh youth, aged 18, was arrested on Monday and is currently in police custody.

According to friends Mr Newlove was married to Helen and the couple have three daughters Zoe, aged about 19, 16-year-old Danielle and Amy, who is thought to be 12.

Mr Newlove was said to have been working as a sales manager for a plastics company.
