Knife yob threatens woman on busy road

A WOMAN was threat- ened by a knife-wielding thug on a busy road.

The 54-year-old local woman pulled up in her car close to a cash machine on Mill Lane, West Derby, and noticed a suspicious man on the other side of the road. She locked all the doors as the man began to approach and he pulled out a knife. He rapped the blade against the window and demanded she get out but she set off the car alarm before driving away.

The thug was white, aged around 16, 5ft 10in tall, slim and was wearing a dark coloured top, which possibly had a motif on it, and jeans.

Police believe there were many pedestrians in the area at the time of the incident, which took place at around 9.45pm on Friday August 31, and they are appealing for anyone who witnessed this to come forward.

Anyone with information should call police on 0151-777 4811 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
